Leticia | Queer Youth Uganda
Project Details:
Uganda remains a dangerous and challenging place to be homosexual. Although the country has been pressured to revoke the death penalty for identifying as LGBTI there are still reports of persecution against LGBTI individuals who are living openly in Uganda. Leticia is the founder of Queer Youth Uganda (QYU), an organization that provides support and advocacy for LGBTI youth. This project was created for QYU and commissioned by The Fund for Global Human rights as a campaign to help raise funding and awareness for the work that Leticia and her team does in Uganda. The film dives into Leticia's personal story and shows how she ultimately took control of her life and founded QYU with the hope that no one would have to struggle like she did.
